Dutch Travel Writer of the Year Award
Every year, the Dutch Travel Writer of the year Award (the Aad Struijs Press Prize (ASP) as is is called here in Holland) is awarded to the writer of the best travel article or broadcast in the Dutch language. The prize - an amount of €1500 euro and a small statue - is awarded at the travel trade day of the consumer travel exhibition Vakantiebeurs.
The winner this year is journalist Toine Heijmans for his article 'Het mooiste stukje' (The most beautiful stretch) which was published in his daily newspaper de Volkskrant of July 20, 2013. His story describes a sailing journey along the Scottisch Hebrids or in his own words 'along the edge of the world'.
Baltus Communications is a proud subsponsor of this prize for many years already. The ASP has been awarded since 2007. The prize is named after a well-known Dutch travel journalist and publicist - Aad Struijs - who passed away in 2004.
