Flying to Gambia, the smallest country on the continent of Africa solid enclosed by Senegal, will take some 6 hours from the Netherlands. Gambia is an ideal winter sun destination with beautiful beaches. The country offers culture, including the colourful market in Serrekunda, adventure trips to the interior, boat trips on the Gambia River, six nature parks. History of slavery including the world heritage James island and the village Juffereh, the famous book of Alex Haley’s ‘Roots’, about the slave Kunte Kinta. Also, the country supports ecologic tourism with projects such as Makasutu and the 450 birds species make Gambia a paradise for birdwatchers.
