Founder Marcel Baltus has ample experience in marketing-communication jobs within the travel industry.
From 1983 to medio 1985 he was employed by the island of Taiwan as information officer. From September
1985 up to and including 1992 he worked as Press & PR Officer for the Netherlands Board of Tourism (NBT)
in London. After this stint, he was transferred to the In- & External Relations department of the NBT
headoffice from April 1992 to December 1993. From 1994 to January 2000 he moved on to become Press & PR
Manager of 'Toerisme & Recreatie AVN' (an umbrella organisation to promote Holland in the interior market).
He broke off his career between March 1996 and February 1997 to fulfill his utmost wish: travelling the world.
Furthermore, from 1995 to February 2000 he acted as secretary of Tourjour Holland, the Dutch Association of
Travel Journalists and PR Officers (presently renamed TourPRess Holland).
Agnes van Duffelen past work experience is also in the travel industry. Between 1988 and 1991 she worked for
EF Talenreizen as project manager, a company selling foreign language courses to students. From 1991 until
1992 she was transferred to the Madrid office as sales manager for EF Talenreizen. She is therefore fluent
in Spanish. Between 1992 and 1996 she was employed by the Dutch Tourist Office in The Hague, where she was in
charge of all native and foreign language printed matter. From 1997 to 1998 she worked for Hotel Dynamics,
a company offering tailor-made loyalty programmes for business travellers and tourists in 5-star hotels.
Baltus Communications is a full-service public relations consultancy that works exclusively for the tourist
and travel industries. Present accounts include the Hong Kong Tourism Board, touroperators Travelhome & VVV
Vakanties, SRS-Worldhotels, Cycletours (cycling holidays), Sindbad Wandelvakanties (walking holidays),
Keith Prowse Entertainment Travel, Benidorm, CzechTourism and local tourist offices in Holland.
Baltus Communications is centrally located in The Hague in between the capital of Amsterdam and the port of
Rotterdam. Schiphol Airport is 35 minutes from The Hague, Rotterdam Airport some 20 minutes. Most major
touroperators and media are situated within the Amsterdam-The Hague-Rotterdam triangle.
